The Child Abuse Prevention
Council of York County raises one third of our annual budget each
year from fundraising events. To make it a little less daunting,
we would like to invite you to help us meet the growing need for
our educational programming throughout York County . We welcome
all forms of charitable giving and appreciate your support for
families and children of York County.

Each year we hold our Annual Appeal, "
Partners in Prevention, " during November and
December. The widespread support from individuals and families,
service groups, businesses, and charitable organizations in York
County and beyond (sometimes way beyond) is heartwarming. Please
contact the office to be added to our mailing list.
Friends of Children
members pledge a minimum of $1,000 per year to support the work of
the Council. To join the Friends of Children Circle in 2010,
please mail your donation to the Council or call to set-up a
quarterly payment. For an invitation to join the
Friends of Children Circle in 2009 please call the
office. For more information, please contact Laurie DuPaul at
207.985.5975 or by email at
ldupaul@kidsfreetogrow.org.
Gifts of Retirement Assets: New
legislation give donors ages 70 ½ and older an opportunity to
direct lifetime distributions from their IRSs and ROTH IRAs to
CAPCYC without incurring income tax liability on the withdrawal.
The provision will be in effect for just the 2006 and 2007 tax
years. Distributions to CAPCYC and other charitable beneficiaries
can total $100,000 per year, and must be made outright - they
cannot fund a life-income gift. Please email
info@kidsfreetogrow.org
and we'll be happy to give you more information about this new
charitable incentive.
Stocks and bonds , when executed
correctly, can result in significant tax savings for the donor.
We welcome and will recognize all unsolicited
donations in honor of a celebratory event or in memory of
a loved one . Planned
Giving : Individuals desiring to "Leave a Legacy" of
Child Abuse Prevention are welcome to include us in their estate
planning through bequests in wills, life estates, and by including
the Council in life insurance policies and qualified pension
plans. Planned giving can also offer donors a meaningful way to
support our mission through a charitable gift annuity or a
charitable remainder trust, both of which allow the donor to
continue receiving flexible life-income benefits. Please consult
with your loved ones and your attorney to make arrangements to
"Leave a Legacy" to the Child Abuse Prevention Council. If
you would like to learn more about making these arrangements, we
will be happy to meet with you and your advisors.
Please notify
ldupaul@kidsfreetogrow.org
of any private foundations that you believe are appropriate. We
appreciate your knowledge about these matters.
